I started Mike New Photography in May of 2004, emphasizing on both wildlife and scenic photography. My interest in photography started in 1990 when my brother and I started backpacking in the Sierra Nevada. I would take photographs of our trips and share them with family and friends, everyone would enjoy them.

In 1992 I joined Inyo County Search and Rescue as a volunteer. I was Treasurer from 1993 to 2001 and spent many years on the board of director. I became a team leader in 1997 and also received the Captains award in 1997 for dedication and service. In 2010 I became Vice President. I am now retired.  In my many years volunteering for this great organization I have touched many lives and seen a lot of beautiful places.

I live in Big Pine, California at the base of the Sierra Nevada with my wife Judi. We both enjoy traveling, hiking and backpacking whenever we have a chance. Whether hiking, backpacking or traveling. I'm constantly amazed at all the beautiful places there are to see.

Please enjoy my Gallery’s and I hope you enjoy nature through my eyes.
